Bio: River Blake, affectionately known as “Riv,” is an ambitious and dedicated young racer from Rhyl, Wales, who has transformed her love for motorsport into a promising career on the track. Initially, River experienced racing from behind the lens as a motorsport photographer, capturing the thrill and intensity of the sport. However, her passion for the sport deepened, sparking a desire to transition from photographing racers to becoming one herself. This bold step led her to launch her racing career with Eclipse Racing Team in November 2023, where her natural talent and competitive spirit were quickly evident.
River’s racing style is a blend of intensity and respect. Known for pushing her kart to its limits, she stays mindful of her surroundings, balancing aggressiveness with an awareness that fosters safe and skillful driving. She takes pride in her overtaking ability and her eagerness to refine her technique, constantly seeking ways to improve. Silverstone holds a special place in her heart, where the fast-paced segments challenge her and allow her to push herself further. Her hard work and tenacity have earned her early achievements, including a win at Silverstone and a first-place finish in her debut race despite mechanical challenges. Racing against seasoned pro drivers, she has proven her ability to compete at a high level in just a few short months, with sponsor Focal Elite recognizing her exceptional promise.
As River approaches 16, her ambitions are expanding. She aims to set new personal records, participate in the British Indoor Karting Championship, and grow her experience with pro karting and the advanced X kart model. Away from the track, River’s interests span roller skating, skateboarding, and motocross—activities that keep her sharp and add to her fearless approach in motorsports. Her ultimate dream is to make her mark in professional racing, competing with a top team and one day setting a lap record. River’s journey from photographer to racer embodies her drive, determination, and readiness to conquer the motorsport world one lap at a time.
